Lloyds - one of the UK’s biggest pharmacy chains is using portable hot water hand wash units from TEAL to provide washing facilities in consultation rooms.
Lloyds pharmacy have consultation rooms in most of their branches – but not all buildings have existing plumbing suitable for installing running hot water in the required location.
“The units are a useful bit of kit in these situations because they are portable, easy to use and don’t take up a lot of space,” says Pharmacy Design & Shopfitting Manager John Heath.
Teal’s Hygienius® units have been delivered direct to branches around the UK – from Scotland to Somerset – and are operational within minutes.
“When we know where we need one we can get it organised quickly without the expense and inconvenience of refitting work in locations where there is no plumbing. It’s the easiest way to overcome the problem and a good interim measure,” says Mr Heath.
The Hygienius® is free standing and requires just a 13 amp socket for operation.
Moulded in tough, high impact polyethylene with an acrylic capped ABS bowl, it is fully automatic with no switches, buttons or settings to be adjusted.
The unit’s unique TEALtainer™ stores ten litres of clean water – enough for 50 ten second hand washes – and features a separate compartment to hygienically store dirty water.
The impressive features of the Hygienius® are matched by its environmental credentials. It uses 75 per cent less water than the best automatic taps to provide a ten second hand wash and the electronically controlled instantaneous heater keeps energy costs down to as little as one fifth of a conventionally plumbed in system.
